City Under Siege

Sunny (Aaron Kwok) is a clown in a circus act but he aspires to be a top performer just like his dad, The King of Flying Knife. While in Malaysia, Sunny and a few of his circus performer friends go for a treasure hunt, stumbling upon barrels of bio-chemicals left from the war. Upon returning, some of the members are mutating due to inhaling the bio-chemicals but Sunny seems fine from the exposure. They gain extraordinary superhuman powers. The leader of the entertainment outfit Chang Tai Chu (Colin Chou) decides to use this newfound strength to do evil. As there is an increase of crime in the city, the media and the police get involved. Kungfu master Suan Hou (Wu Jing) and policewoman Xin Hua (Zhang Jin Chu) enter the fray, while Angel (Shu Qi), a reporter who is recently demoted, also pursues the case in hopes of rescuing her flagging career.

It's largely American "X-Men" meets Chinese "Future X-Cops" in this uncomfortable yet fairly entertaining Hong Kong actioner that certainly contains more drama than what the poster or title might suggest.

In a modification of the usual themes we find in movies about post-war Nazi experiments, this Benny Chan picture uses the prologue of fictional Japanese experiments in Malaysia during WWII occupation and spins a mutant story with heroes and villains, mostly in fat suits, clown suits or any other futuristic-looking PVC apparel, as long as they look more advanced than Streetfighter characters. We follow a bumbling simpleton named Sunny (Aaron Kwok) who goes from circus clown to national hero in a bizarre turn of events that we'll omit as spoilers. Colin Chou ("Forbidden Kingdom") plays the arch nemesis, while Shu Qi ("Gorgeous") gets a decent role as a beautiful TV news anchor. Meanwhile there are also Mr and Mrs Smith super agent roles for Zhang Jing Chu ("Aftershock") and Wu Jing ("SPL").

The balance between CGI and traditional FX isn't very comfortable in this movie, especially coming from such an established filmmaker who gave us the "Police Story" movies with Jackie Chan. As mentioned earlier, it's rather unusual that the movie does have a useful healthy dose of emotional downtime and humourous interjections (Aaron Kwok's obsession with being "slim") - this helps lift the mood for the otherwise very overdone plot. More importantly, it's possible that many of the understated action scenes in this movie are actually quite explosive but can't find a comfortable place to engage the audience who are being visually bamboozled with various CGI oddities.

We must however single out Aaron Kwok as being a much improved, very competent and professional actor despite the flak he gets all these years. In related observations, Shu Qi's Cantonese has improved fivefold since the "Sex And Zen" years while Mainlanders Zhang Jing Chu and Wu Jing need better projects if they're gonna break out of the B-movie mould.

Back to the movie, "City Under Siege" feels more "Ultraman" than "Rumble In The Bronx" but you can be assured you won't feel shortchanged if you're looking for an action movie with Chinese stars

Happy 20th Birthday to me

Well, today is my born day which is my birthday too..
and wanted to say "Happy birthday to me" ^^
erm.. this year 20 tahun lo... >< many ppl said "amanda big girl edi.. or amanda old edi." =.=lll
of coz will old la.. everyone also will be old in one day right?
and I wanted to Thank You GOD that im still alive now.. =] keke...

erm.. well... today im super happy because alots of people wish me "happy birthday" at Facebook, msn, sms and even mms too.. ^_^
and my deariest friends - Thien, Amy, Vivian, Chiew, Felix, Ant, Terry had giving me a small surprise.. ^_^ anyway, im enjoyed my day... =]

1B Shopping

Today, me and my family went to 1B for shopping..
and realised that there are like so little people at there..
and i was like WOW!!! IMPOSSIBLE!!
and i keep think.. and if im not mistaken, everyone is going to Suria Sabah there as got Matta Fair and the shopping mall is near at KK Town too.. so i guess many people will be going there.. =]
erm... what elsE?
actually today went to 1B just wanted to buy some new shirts lo.. ><
so... ya, that's it.. =]

Malaysian Study

Well, yesterday night i tried my best to "memorise" the answer for my exam of Malaysian Study for today (20/8) mid term exam~ 

but in the end, im failed to memorise it or study with it.. because its totally stress.. because almost half of my coursemate is failed.. and i felt so so pressure at all~~

I kept tell myself that don give myself too pressure, maybe the exam question will not be harder as i think.. 

So, i went to my room and took my Mr Lappie to play FB game.. ^^v 

Then, talked phone with friend awhile and around 1230am, went to sleep... 

This morning when i woke up, my brain totally blank~

I wanted to take revision, and feel sleepy and lazy, but i had to do it because later 1040am i will take the exam alone.. T_T 

And for your extra information, that is my whole life 1st time exam alone.. Its sound scary~ >

Then went to college, my good "uncle" - Fred is accompany me while he is eating his real breakfast and his "breakfast = smoking".. ahahaha... and he is such a good uncle... =] then, suddenly appear with Kaesen~~ LOL!! and he wanted to shock me from back but his mission failed!!! wakakakaka... and both of them eating breakfast while i stressing and sracthing my head!!! T_T 

Then went to class as usual which is Malaysian Study subject also.. >,< 

and seriously i keep stress-ing already.. during the class i kept concentrate on lecturer and takes notes as well.. and i din study again.. =.=lll

And this is the time come.... MID TERM!!! 

alone.. quite.. no one with me except the ah beng lecturer><

so lastly he dump me alone in class and he told me that he got class need to teach!!! @@ faint!! 

so, i just as usual just normal and concentrate my exam.. 

1 Hour later, i done my exam... i directly went to the office and i'm luckily met with the lecturer so i asked him to mark infront of me... and i felt sorry that actually that time he was totally busy with his job, but he also marked the paper too.. thanks so much to him.. but too bad is im too stupid as well, too honest to him... 

In the section b, actually i just correct 6.5marks but he go counted it as 7.5 marks.. then i told him to re-count and is 6.5 marks.. T_T and means it decrease my marks but not increase my marks!! stupid Me!!! T_T haiz.. but im very happy as well coz i get 5.4% /10% .. =] Praise the LORD!!! 

After that, went to Block A to wait my mom came to fetch me and uncle Fred home.. =] erm.. then today finally i can eat KFC as my lunch.. the services of the KFC quite bad!! don really like it.. like turtle!! >

but suppose just now lunch is Burger King, but because of some reason, so i choose to eat KFC as my lunch.. ^^

and this afternoon raining quite heavy!! ^_^ wanted to sleep afternoon but my bro ask me to do somethings.. =.=

erm.. then today is Matta Fair as well.. and i chosed to do not help my EX company anymore! Since the boss can be 2 faces of people, i don want.. In front of me is okie, but at the back of me said me like "pura-pura sakit coz of the chicken pox" damn u la!! Now is the time that why all the staff leave them!!!!

Chicken Pox 3

Well, today is my 10th day of getting chicken pox (actually not getting but is getting go in)..

and today i also went to see doctor as well~

and guess what??

IM RECOVERED!!!! and i can go to college!!! ^_^ (yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay)

i'm so happy with it coz i already get bored at house for 1 weeks plus!

here cannot go, there cannot go!! it was totally at JAIL at home.. ><

btw, and i got asked the doctor wheter i can eat chicken meat or not? 

and he said YES!! Of course u can!! 

and i straight ask my mom to let me eat chicken meat for tonight dinner.. =] hehehe.. 

i oso can eat durian as well~ ^^ yummmieeee... 

What else?

2mr i can go back to college, and i know that im gonna faced alots of problems which is i need to in a short time to catch up everythings that had been lectured, and i need to sit for 2 mid term, which is Japanese 2 and  also Malaysian Studies as well.. >

and i really hope this 2 subject i can pass on it.. =]

hmmmm..  what else? and it seems like almost 1 months i din go to church, just because i said before i get chicken pox, my little sis get it too.. >< so, ya~ T_T 

Chicken pox 2

Hye guys.. how are you recently?
Well, as your info now, i get chicken pox and i need to rest till 6th Aug.. After that i don know yet, but i hope that i want fast fast recover..
Coz this bad chicken pox is making me itchy, suffer, high fever till 40 degrees.. T_T

hmmmm.. i will be postpone my mid term of MS and also the Japanese 2 Test 2 as well.. T_T
means im the last person who exam the mid term... wakakaka...
is it a bad things or good things for me?
btw, hmmm... now my body, not whole but not much.. just erm... middle of it is having the red dots coz chicken pox ma.. ><

chicken pox

Chickenpox is a common illness among kids, particularly those under age 12. An itchy rash of spots that look like blisters can appear all over the body and be accompanied by flu-like symptoms. Symptoms usually go away without treatment, but because the infection is very contagious, an infected child should stay home and rest until the symptoms are gone.

Chickenpox is caused by the varicella-zoster virus (VZV). Kids can be protected from VZV by getting the chickenpox (varicella) vaccine, usually between the ages of 12 to 15 months. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also recommends a booster shot at 4 to 6 years old for further protection. The CDC also recommends that people 13 years of age and older who have never had chickenpox or received the chickenpox vaccine get two doses of the vaccine at least 28 days apart.

A person usually has only one episode of chickenpox, but VZV can lie dormant within the body and cause a different type of skin eruption later in life called shingles (or herpes zoster). Getting the chickenpox vaccine significantly lowers kids' chances of getting chickenpox, but they might still develop shingles later in life.

Symptoms

Chickenpox causes a red, itchy skin rash that usually appears first on the abdomen or back and face, and then spreads to almost everywhere else on the body, including the scalp, mouth, nose, ears, and genitals.The rash begins as multiple small red bumps that look like pimples or insect bites. They develop into thin-walled blisters filled with clear fluid, which becomes cloudy. The blister wall breaks, leaving open sores, which finally crust over to become dry, brown scabs.

Chickenpox blisters are usually less than a quarter of an inch wide, have a reddish base, and appear in crops over 2 to 4 days. The rash may be more extensive or severe in kids who have skin disorders such as eczema.

Some kids have a fever, abdominal pain, sore throat, headache, or a vague sick feeling a day or 2 before the rash appears. These symptoms may last for a few days, and fever stays in the range of 100°-102° F (37.7°-38.8° C), though in rare cases may be higher. Younger kids often have milder symptoms and fewer blisters than older children or adults.

Chickenpox is usually a mild illness, but can affect some infants, teens, adults, and people with weak immune systems more severely. Some people can develop serious bacterial infections involving the skin, lungs, bones, joints, and the brain (encephalitis). Even kids with normal immune systems can occasionally develop complications, most commonly a skin infection near the blisters.

Anyone who has had chickenpox (or the chickenpox vaccine) as a child is at risk for developing shingles later in life, and up to 20% do. After an infection, VZV can remain inactive in nerve cells near the spinal cord and reactivate later as shingles, which can cause tingling, itching, or pain followed by a rash with red bumps and blisters. Shingles is sometimes treated with antiviral drugs, steroids, and pain medications, and there's now a shingles vaccine for people 60 and older.

Treatment

A virus causes chickenpox, so the doctor won't prescribe antibiotics. However, antibiotics may be required if the sores become infected by bacteria. This is pretty common among kids because they often scratch and pick at the blisters.

The antiviral medicine acyclovir may be prescribed for people with chickenpox who are at risk for complications. The drug, which can make the infection less severe, must be given within the first 24 hours after the rash appears. Acyclovir can have significant side effects, so it is only given when necessary. Your doctor can tell you if the medication is right for your child.

Dealing With Discomfort

To help relieve the itchiness, fever, and discomfort of chickenpox:

• Use cool wet compresses or give baths in cool or lukewarm water every 3 to 4 hours for the first few days. Oatmeal bath products, available at supermarkets and drugstores, can help to relieve itching. (Baths do not spread the rash.)
• Pat (don't rub) the body dry.
• Put calamine lotion on itchy areas (but don't use it on the face, especially near the eyes).
• Serve foods that are cold, soft, and bland because chickenpox in the mouth may make drinking or eating difficult. Avoid feeding your child anything highly acidic or especially salty, like orange juice or pretzels.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist about pain-relieving creams to apply to sores in the genital area.
• Give your child acetaminophen regularly to help relieve pain if your child has mouth blisters.
• Ask the doctor about using over-the-counter medication for itching.

Never use aspirin to reduce pain or fever in kids with chickenpox because aspirin has been associated with the serious diseaseReye syndrome, which can lead to liver failure and even death.

As much as possible, discourage kids from scratching. This can be difficult for them, so consider putting mittens or socks on your child's hands to prevent scratching during sleep. In addition, trim fingernails and keep them clean to help lessen the effects of scratching, including broken blisters and infection.

Most chickenpox infections require no special medical treatment. But sometimes, there are problems. Call the doctor if your child:

• has fever that lasts for more than 4 days or rises above 102° F (38.8° C)
• has a severe cough or trouble breathing
• has an area of rash that leaks pus (thick, discolored fluid) or becomes red, warm, swollen, or sore
• has a severe headache
• is unusually drowsy or has trouble waking up
• has trouble looking at bright lights
• has difficulty walking
• seems confused
• seems very ill or is vomiting
• has a stiff neck

Call your doctor if you think your child has chickenpox and you have a question or are concerned about a possible complication. The doctor can guide you in watching for complications and in choosing medication to relieve itching.

If taking your child to the doctor, let the office know in advance that your child might have chickenpox. It's important to try to avoid exposing other kids in the office — for some of them, a chickenpox infection could cause severe complications.

其实我很在乎你

我们结束吧！不是说我不爱你了，只是我们将各奔东西，去我们都不熟悉的世界，那里没有你，也没有我！我不想用一句承诺，来缠住你一辈子，如果我们有缘的话，我相信当我们大学毕业的时候，我们还会在一起的！不要哭，我们应该勇敢地去面对，毕竟在将来的路上还有很多比这更让我们无法接受的事情！明天我将不在你身边，你要照顾好自己，不要让我担心，记得要快乐啊！因为只有你快乐，我才会快乐！”元钧一口口吸着烟，对我说了这些话。因为夜很黑，我看不清他的表情，但借着微弱的月光，我看见了一颗晶莹剔透的东西从他那消瘦的脸庞滑落，所以我知道他是爱我的，所以我会快乐的去面对即将到来的大学生活。因为只有我快乐，他才会快乐啊！
　　忘了哪位哲人曾说过这样的话“距离产生美，不过要小心，距离有了美没了”，也许正应验了这位哲人的话，在半年后，元钧又恋爱了，那个女生似乎比我优秀了很多。于是我陷入了深深的自卑与怀疑中。我开始怀疑他对我说的每一句话，我不知道他们哪句是真的，哪句是假的；我开始怀疑自己，难道我真的有那么差劲吗？我失去了往日挂在脸上自信的笑容，失去了对爱情的憧憬与信心，一味低迷的我失去了人生的方向。

　　突然有一天，元钧跑来找我，当时我的心情有些复杂，这是分手以后他第一次主动来找我，我问他“有什么事吗？我们不是已经分手了吗？我想我们之间应该不会有交集了吧！”
　　他支吾了半天也没说出话来，我有些不耐烦地说“再不说，我可要走了，不好意思，我可没时间陪您在这里闲坐着！”。他说“云，我知道当初是我不对，我不应该离开你，可是你知道吗？当时我在那里一个人真的很寂寞，就在这时，蓝蓝走进了我的世界，我就这样爱上了她，不管当初我是为了摆脱一个人的孤寂，还是因为我爱她，但我现在真得很爱她，我真的好想娶她，和她一起生活！可是她说只要你一天没有归宿，她就一天没有安全感，害怕失去我，虽然我跟他说，我和你已经是过去式了，我现在只爱她一个人，可她总觉得你是个威胁，求你了，找个好人就嫁了吧！我不值得你等啊！而且我真的不爱你了！我知道这样做对你不公平，但我真的没有其他办法了，你找个好人就嫁了吧，只有你嫁出了，我和蓝蓝才会结婚。”泪水不知不觉从我的眼角流出，我沙哑着嗓子对他说：“元钧，我现在真的把你看扁了，我真的搞不明白自己当初为什么会那么喜欢你这种男人，我告诉你，我过得怎样用不着您老人家操心，但我相信我一定会过得比你好，至少我还有一个真真实实爱我的人，不像你，一条摇尾乞怜的狗！”当时的我真的好伤心，你可以不爱我，但不应该伤害我的自尊！就在我最无助的时候，枫出现了，他一把拉起我，抱紧我，然后对元钧大吼，“你还是个男人嘛！连女人都欺负。云的幸福由我负责，你不要再来骚扰她，她已经被你伤的遍体鳞伤了，你还想怎么地啊！以后你给我离云远远的，不许你再来伤害她！”就这样枫把我抱出了咖啡屋！虽然这时的我已经哭得稀里哗啦，可还是隐隐约约听见了背后元钧恳求声“求你了，云”！我想，这个男人真的不值得我爱了，我们真的该结束了。这时我抱着枫，就像抓住了一根救命的稻草，把我从痛苦的边缘拉回来。突然，好想有个家，有一个真的爱我的男人在那个家里，等我吃饭，等我回家。叶枫给了元钧从未给过我的安全感，我知道在不知不觉中，已经有个男人闯进了我的世界，同时又走进了我的心，而那个人就是枫！我知道我已经离不开他了！可是我不知道，我还有没有拥有幸福的权力，还能不能拥有爱情的甜蜜。走出咖啡屋，趴在枫的肩头，我轻声地说了声“娶我好吗，枫”，我感觉到了枫的心停止了跳动，紧接着传来兴奋的声音，枫抱着我在路上转圈，大声地说，“哈哈哈，我是这个世界上最幸福的男人，我娶到了这个世界上最好的女人，可以和你一起生活是我这辈子最大的幸福了，以后你的幸福就由我来负责了，我不会再要你哭泣，无论为谁！我都不允许你再伤心！”。
　　一个月后，我和枫举行了婚礼，我感觉自己是这个世界最幸福的女人了，遇见了像枫这样的好男人这样爱我，不给我伤心的机会，我会尽我最大的努力，让枫幸福！因为我发现我已经深深地爱上他了！
　　我知道现在的我真得很幸福，而且终于明白，原来我一直都很爱枫，他的爱是简单的，但很真实，能让我实实在在的感受到，让我在不知不觉中无可救药地爱上他。其实我想要的就是那种简简单单的幸福，其实我一直都很在乎他——枫
　　不要为了一个不爱你的人去浪费你的时间与心情，珍惜身边那个值得珍惜的人，那个你开心陪你开心，你不开心哄你开心，别人欺负你时第一个站出来挺你，那个不让你受一点委屈的人，当你不小心丢了心情时，为你指明生活方向的人，无论怎样都一直在你身边的那个人。因为当你失去他的时候，你才会发现其实你一直都很在乎他，不要等到那个爱你的人冷了心的时候，才发现你爱的是他，在乎的是他！幸福有两种，一种是理想中的，很美，但像泡沫一样易碎；而另一种是实实在在的，很平淡但很真实。幸福其实真得很简单！
